TH56 Choosing the Appropriate Owner/Architect Agreement: One Size Does Not Fit All HSW
05/15/2008, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Learning Units: 1.50-Advanced level

Training Units: 0.375-Training Area 11 (Bidding and Contract Negotiation)

In late 2007 the AIA introduced a completely revamped A201 family of documents, including fully revised owner/architect agreements. Recognizing that design projects vary widely in size and complexity, the new agreements provide basic services tailored to match the project's requirements. What does that mean for you? It means less time spent editing AIA documents! Attend this program to investigate the five new AIA owner/architect agreements and find out how to choose the right one for your project.

Learning Objectives:
  • Compare and contrast the features of five new owner/architect agreements
  • Explain why choosing the appropriate agreement can allow the architect to provide better service and save time preparing and negotiating agreements
  • Select, with confidence, appropriate owner/architect agreements based on project size and complexity
Speakers: Cara Shimkus Hall, AIA and Andrew Mendelson, AIA

Provider: AIA Documents Committee
