Walk the Freedom Trail. Learn how to properly investigate, document, and assess a historic property by participating in an actual hands-on assessment of the historic home of Paul Revere. Led by a team of experienced preservation architects, you will review what to look for to identify significant features, historic significance, and appropriate treatments as well as the role your documentation can play in guiding a structure's future.

Learning Objectives:
  • Review the purpose, history, methodology, philosophy, and value of the Historic Structure Reports
  • Identify, investigate, and analyze character-defining features and determine their integrity and historic significance
  • Develop recommendations for treatment using the secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation, the National Park Service's Technical and Preservation Briefs, and the findings of the assessment process
