05/14/2008, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Learning Units: 3.75-Entry level

Training Units: 0.9375-Training Area 15 (Office Management)

Through case studies, we will analyze actual financial statements and the resulting key financial ratios. The presenters will help attendees understand their financial statements and ratios, and the impact they have on buiding shareholder value. We will review various performance, liquidity, and leverage ratios and how to benchmark these results. We will then make the causal link to shareholder value and its relationship to internal ownership transition planning or an external firm sale.

Learning Objectives:
  • Evaluate accounting, financial statements, and key financial ratios that drive value in a design firm
  • Explain how the key financial ratios directly and indirectly affect shareholder value and identify specific causes driving these ratios
  • Demonstrate the importance of the relationship between performance, liquidity, and leverage ratios and the connection to value and exit strategy management
