WE26 Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit Workshop: Boston Opera House Case Study HSW CANCELLED

A case study of the Boston Opera House will demonstrate how the professional architecture and preservation team came together to rehabilitate this great building and to obtain the 20 percent federal rehabilitation tax credits as well as the state tax incentives. The team will discuss the $30 million rehabilitation, the application process, the secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabiltation Standards, and the various compliance reviews needed to bring this theater back into productive use.

Learning Objectives:
  • Explain how to contact the various representatives in your state and the National Park Service responsible for compliance review
  • Evaluate the requirements for submitting a completed application with the requisite level of documentation, rehabilitation descriptions, drawings, and specifications
  • Apply the secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation to historic projects
