Transforming a firm to truly deliver green design depends on more than knowing green products and technologies and having a "green group." It depends on shifting fundamental business practices to align corporate culture and practice with integrated design and high performance project delivery. This 10-point program provides models and a template for a successful strategic approach to transform management and project delivery to integrate green design into all projects at all levels of staffing as appropriate.

Learning Objectives:
  • Apply a strategic approach to corporate transformation, including crafting a workplan that achieves both immediate and long-term benefits and engages staff from CEO to designer in ways that transform management and project delivery
  • Apply baselining and metrics to management and business practices in the context of performance and collaboration and to create different strategies for different levels of staff responsibility that relate to green design
  • Frame the concept of collaborative, green design through a business lens to provide a foundation for understanding how to address profitability, transfer of knowledge, and project management in the context of green
