Daylighting contributes to the public good by reducing energy consumption, improving health and productivity, and reducing light pollution. Yet few new buildings incorporate daylighting technology. This session considers obstacles that architects encounter when they seek to incorporate daylighting, as well as strategies for overcoming these obstacles.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify the key obstacles to daylighting projects and strategies to overcome these obstacles
  • Create and use an assessment tool to understand clients' needs and expectations related to daylighting
  • Incorporate daylighting strategies into commercial projects
