| TH12 Standard 189: High-Performance Green Buildings HSW 05/15/2008, 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM Learning Units: 1.00-Entry level Training Units: 0.25-Training Area 17 (Energy Conservation) The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America have developed a standard for high performance, green buildings that would apply to all buildings except low-rise residential buildings, Standard 189. The standard addresses sustainable sites; water use efficiency; energy efficiency; the building's impact on the atmosphere, materials, and resources; indoor environmental quality; and construction and operation.
