LEED for Homes is due to be launched in November 2007. Hundreds of projects and thousands of units have participated in the program to date, including a wide array of housing types. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is planning to also introduce in November a set of green remodeling guidelines. This session will cover the basic elements of LEED for Homes and the new remodeling guidelines and describe opportunities for architects to become involved with the two programs.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify key features of the LEED for Homes Rating System and the USGBC's green residential remodeling guidelines
  • Apply the rating system and guidelines in your professional practice
  • Implement a green home design project
