| WE10 Taking Back the Sun: The Architect's Role in Daylighting Design HSW 05/14/2008, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Learning Units: 3.75-Intermediate level Training Units: 0.9375-Training Area 3 (Schematic Design) An interactive presentation demonstrating architectural daylighting principles and strategies and how these should influence the design process from the conceptual design phase forward. After a discussion of daylighting's historical role, basic solar dynamics, and tools and techniques, participants will work in small groups to construct models solving a given design problem. Daylight model-testing is used to predict and analyze the effects of building orientation, location, massing, and form. Learning Objectives:
