| TG02 Run for Fun with Payette 05/15/2008, 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM Run Tour Come run for fun along Boston Harbor. Boston is consistently ranked one of the best places to run by Runners World. Come see for yourself with this early morning run along the Harbor Walk. Designed to connect the public to a clean and restored Boston Harbor, the Harbor Walk links the water's edge to the city's open space system. Part of its richness is variety in public use activities and urban textures of adjacent land, both active and passive. Come run along the Harbor Walk with colleagues, including architects from Payette who lead the way. We will divide into two groups: one group running 3.5 miles (30 minutes); another, a full 6 miles (75 minutes). You choose. We will gather at Westin Hotel next to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The first group will travel south through the Marine Industrial Park to the Black Falcom Terminal. On our return, we continue past the Westin, traveling past Boston's new Institute of Contemporary Art as far as the Federal Courthouse. Then it is back to the convention center. The second group will also begin with a run through the Marine Industrial Park but will continue farther south to Castle Island in South Boston. Originally freestanding, Castle Island has been connected to the mainland since the 1930s when streetcars brought bathers to Pleasure Bay. TG02 Thursday, 7-9 a.m., $20 |
