From the deck of our tour boat, you will see first-hand the transformation of Boston's historic waterfront into parklands, housing, and diverse employment opportunities for Boston-area residents and visitors. Sights along the tour will range from the 1970s pioneer waterfront development to current developments' version of historic granite warehouses into mixed-use projects, as well as the new Institute of Contemporary Art, the Moakley Courthouse, Rowes Wharf, Burroughs Wharf, the historic Pilot House, U.S. Coast Guard, USS Constitution and contemporary development at the Charlestown Navy Yard, and the evolving East Boston waterfront. En route you will view beautiful new waterfront parks and will learn how good planning, persistence, interagency cooperation, public/private partnerships, and vision have revitalized an old underused waterfront into a thriving urban asset. In May Boston can be cool, especially on the water, so dress in layers and rain gear if needed. Learning Objectives:
