This program, based on the presenters' best-selling book, will explore the essential issues involved in transferring ownership and leadership, including how to establish value, choose transfer mechanisms, identify potential leaders, and train architects for future leadership roles. The presenters, a management consultant and an attorney/CPA with broad experience in helping architects, will address these issues and describe how to ensure successful transitions.

Learning Objectives:
  • Determine the value of your firm for internal and external transition and identify the necessary steps and parameters and apply them
  • Identify potential leaders by compiling lists of attributes and capabilities, selecting those most appropriate for their firms, and appraising and evaluating candidates against the criteria
  • Design a plan and process for future transitions, including determining how to build value and develop prospective leaders so that they can take leadership roles in the practice, the profession, and their communities
